🚔 Mayor Mike Johnston announced new “trust patrols” by the Denver Police to build community trust and prevent crime by having officers step out of their cruisers and into local businesses. This initiative aims to boost community trust through regular visits, while also introducing Hot Streets Policing to target crime hotspots. Expect 6,000 trust patrols this year as Denver's finest engage with the community to prevent crime and enhance public safety.
🤘 Get ready for a musical takeover as the Underground Music Showcase returns this weekend! Starting Friday, over 175 bands will rock South Broadway from 6th to Alameda Avenues.
Highlights:
Headliners: Beach Fossils, Tkay Maidza, Amyl and the Sniffers.
Stages: 4 outdoor stages and 10 local venues.
Extras: Pop-up bars, underground parties, and merch booths.
Single-day passes start at $60.
Full weekend passes start at $120.
Friday: 4 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 2 p.m. - 2 a.m.
All-ages outdoor festival, free for kids under 10.
Indoor shows age-restricted.
No designated parking; limited street parking available.
💰 The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Colorado $328.7 million from the Inflation Reduction Act to boost energy efficiency and reduce pollution, with $199.7 million going to the Denver Regional Council of Governments for weatherizing and electrifying buildings and $129 million to the Colorado Energy Office for cutting greenhouse gas emissions statewide.
