RAPID REPORTS
🐱 Free cat microchipping
All of July, the Denver Animal Shelter offers free cat microchipping. Why chip? One in three pets go missing, and only 2% of unchipped cats make it home. Plus, adopt a pet for just $50 through the Hot Dogs, Cool Cats special.
🥗 3 new restaurant openings
After a busy June for Denver’s dining scene, July is kicking off with 3 new restaurant openings:
🥩 Carne, 2601 Larimer Street
🍟 Eat Here at Millers & Rossi, 3542 Walnut Street
🥑 Two Hands, 3985 Tennyson Street
⚖️ City Council meeting
Today, the Denver City Council will vote on three Nov. 5th ballot measures:
Creating a Ballpark Improvement District around Coors Field
Establishing the Department of Human Rights and Community Partnerships as a chartered cabinet agency
Allowing certain city employees to negotiate union contracts, possibly including a right to strike.
The meeting is at 3:30PM in the City Council Chambers at Cathy Reynolds City Council Chamber 1437 Bannock Street, Room 450. The public is welcome to attend or watch live on Zoom here.
🚔 Avoid a $95 fee
Starting July 15, Denver Police will enforce expired vehicle registration and temporary license plates for one month, responding to resident complaints. Avoid a $95 fine by updating your registration and plates now. This move temporarily lifts a May policy limiting stops for minor offenses, allowing officers to target more dangerous violations like reckless driving and speeding.

Colorado Rapids midfielder Djordje Mihailovic joins the U.S. Men's Olympic Team, becoming the second Rapids player to compete in the Olympics after Joey DiGiamarino in 2000. Watch the U.S. team starting July 24 against France.

Game Highlights:
